About the RUCKUS ICX 7550 Series
The RUCKUS ICX 7550 is a mid-range, enterprise-class stackable access and aggregation switch purpose-built to provide wired connectivity at the edge of the network for the latest generations of Wi-Fi access points. It delivers the performance and scalability required for Wi-Fi 7 deployments and beyond, with up to 48 ports of multigigabit connectivity and full 90 watts of 802.3bt PoE power per port, backed by perpetual and fast-boot PoE so powered devices stay online even while the switch restarts. It is also one of the first switches in its class to offer 100 GbE uplinks, allowing enterprises to dramatically increase network capacity over their existing optical wire infrastructure.
The series covers a broad range of deployment scenarios: gigabit access models for legacy access points, VoIP phones, printers and desktop computers; multigigabit PoE models with a mix of 2.5 GbE and 2.5/5/10 GbE ports for the wireless edge and smart-building loads such as PoE-powered lighting and LED signage; and 1/10 GbE fiber models for entry-level 10G aggregation or fiber-to-the-room designs in small to mid-size networks. All models stack seamlessly together — up to 12 switches and 576 ports per stack, with long-distance stacking over fiber links up to 10 km — combining chassis-level performance with the “pay as you grow” scalability of a stackable platform.
Operationally, the ICX 7550 fits any management model: cloud-based RUCKUS One, on-premises SmartZone for unified wired and wireless control, controllerless RUCKUS Unleashed, or the industry-standard CLI with SNMP and sFlow. Security and availability features include MACsec 128-bit and 256-bit encryption, 802.1X authentication, redundant hot-swappable load-sharing power supplies and fans, hitless stack failover and In Service Software Upgrades (ISSU). As an authorized RUCKUS partner, Barrdega supplies the ICX 7550 with expert configuration guidance — request a quote for project pricing.
