The Zebra MiniScan MS954 Series is a compact, durable, fixed-mount laser barcode scanner engineered for premium linear scanning of all major 1D barcodes — including poorly printed and low-contrast symbols. Its small footprint (1.02 x 1.93 x 2.31 in) and light 1.67 oz / 47.34 g build make it ideal for embedding in OEM device designs, while it also performs as a reliable standalone fixed-mount scanner for automated data collection.
A 650 nm visible laser diode drives a linear scan pattern at 104 ±12 scans per second, with a configurable scan angle of 47° or 35° to match each application's working range. The MS954 reads from near contact out to over 35 in / 88.9 cm, delivering a flexible decode range for maximum accuracy and throughput. A true RS-232 interface and 5 VDC supply make plug-and-play integration straightforward, reducing development time and speeding time to market.
Built for demanding environments, the MS954 operates from -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C), tolerates ambient light up to 86,111 lux of direct sunlight, and continues to function normally after multiple drops from 30 in (76 cm) to concrete.
